Advocacy: ACTIVE PUBLIC SUPPORT of a particular cause or policy!

REMINDER: On Yom Kippur, we got a crash course on advocacy – why and how to become an effective advocate at a time when action is required of all who seek Social Justice. We rallied behind  “Trans Rights Are Human Rights” and walked away with an Action Plan to make a difference

You can watch our YK Social Justice Hour HERE, access our Action Plan HERE and visit our LGBTQIA+ Equality page HERE. There are many ways to be active and many causes to fight for – choose one and do something!

The time for action is NOW!

This year, LGBTQIA+ Floridians, particularly trans and gender nonconforming youth, no longer feel safe, seen, or loved in our state, as a result of the legislature’s unprecedented attack on LGBTQ+ lives and futures. Now, more than ever, we must speak out and raise our voices to protect and empower LGBTQ+ Floridians -- making society safer for and more inclusive of LGBTQ+ people. We must educate ourselves and support our partners in pursuing Equality!

"Every new generation of LGBTQIA+ people faces a new set of challenges that build on the work and experiences of the past. From elders to youth, we welcome the opportunity to learn from each other as we strive for Tikun Olam – improving and repairing the world. Part of that repair is to hold on tightly to our fiercely fought-for rights...What is given to us by society can also be taken away.  We must not ever be complacent”
