Rabbi Amy L. Morrison received her Bachelor of Arts Degree from the University of Michigan in 2000, a Master’s Degree in Hebrew Letters in 2006, as well as rabbinic ordination in 2008 from Hebrew Union College-Jewish Institute of Religion. Possessing a deep passion for serving all age groups in our multi-generational community, Rabbi Morrison proudly holds a certificate in Pastoral Care and Counseling from Emory University, as well as formal certification as a Prepare-Enrich facilitator for Pre-marital and Marriage counseling. Before coming to Miami, Rabbi Morrison served for two years as Rabbi at the San Francisco Jewish Home for the Aged, as well as multiple years as Dean of Jewish Life at the American Hebrew Academy in Greensboro, North Carolina.
In Miami since 2011, Rabbi Morrison was part of the clergy team at Temple Beth Sholom. Her role there included a particular focus on youth and teen informal education, summer Israel trips and camping, college outreach, GLBT programming and older adult enrichment. Rabbi Morrison gave birth to her son, Ezra, in May 2014. Ezra enjoys clapping, and playing with his many friends. The Morrison family, which includes cat “Rosh,” looks forward to being a part of the Temple Israel of Greater Miami family.
